Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH) Technician

Role:

  • Removal and refitting of automotive vehicle components from both current production and prototype vehicles. 
  • Installation and removal of test measurement transducers including microphones, accelerometers, displacement probes and laser vibrometers
  • Setup and operation of vehicle and powertrain dynamometer systems, to ensure safe, repeatable measurements of vehicle and powertrain systems under operational loads.
  • General fabrication of test fixtures and ancillaries (Including welding, cutting, grinding, drilling, fitting, e.t.c.)
  • Shared responsibility for the robust delivery of vehicle and powertrain test programmes, and the integrity of the recorded test data
  • The role is highly practical in nature and comprises test cell, workshop, and occasional vehicle track testing activities.

Suitability:

  • Vehicle Technician NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Ideally a minimum of 2 years automotive vehicle technician experience, gained within an automotive vehicle manufacturer, main dealer or independent garage workshop environment
  • Specific automotive NVH testing experience is highly preferable but not essential
  • Good practical engineering skills, and ability to demonstrate a through knowledge of the mechanical and electrical systems used in automotive vehicles
  • Knowledge of, or training on the servicing and maintenance of HV hybrid/electric vehicles highly preferable (e.g. IMI EV Technician Level 2+), but not essential.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers and other team members.
  • Good PC Skills (Word, Excel, e.t.c.) are a distinct advantage
  • Full UK driving licence (or transferable equivalent)
  • Working visa or permission to work in the UK
